Got touchpad to scroll

After upgrading to Slackware 12.2, the touchpad on my laptop was not scrolling. After a bit of googling, I found this thread -

as suggested in the above link, I changed the line

options psmouse proto=imps

to

options psmouse proto=auto

in /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse

then after reloading the psmouse module, and restarting X, my touchpad was scrolling.
